1 Samuel 16:14 “But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.”
1 Samuel 16:15 “And Saul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.”

Being prudent is part of our salvation package, but, unfortunately, many believers don’t tap into this dimension of grace. As long as you are born again, this great ability is in you already, all you need to do is activate it. It is high time we began to act with prudence in all matters of life.
Beloved, I want you to look inward, are you a thinker?
Do you attempt to decipher complex problems or run away? The palaces are in need of prudent men, do you qualify?
1 Samuel 16:18 “…and a comely person, and the LORD [is] with him.’
The sixth quality is “a comely person”. This talks about being well behaved. It means a pleasant character and well behaved person.
The truth of the matter is that your behaviour is either a terrible “odour” or a “sweet smelling fragrance”. Odours drive people away while perfumes attract. One negative trait with gifted people is pride and rudeness.
Several talented folks are not “comely” and as a result don’t qualify for the palace. Your gifts and talents can truly get you to the top, but it is your character that can keep you there. I have seen several people rise in life only for them to come crashing down within a short while.
Daniel got to Babylon as a teenager and became a palace boy. He rose to become the Prime Minister in that foreign land. Bible scholars made us realise he stayed in the corridors of power for close to eighty years. He outlived several kings. He couldn’t be relegated to the background because he was comely.
Beloved, what character is keeping you away from the palace? It could be very minute, but as long as it is an odour, it will keep greatness away from you. Hear this:
