Problems in High Places-9

1 Samuel 16:14 “But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.”
1 Samuel 16:15 “And Saul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.”
…From yesterday…
To be skilful, according to the dictionary, means to have the ability to make a difference, to discern, to have knowledge or understanding to an usual degree. It means to have the know how; to be an expert or dextrous.
I love that. Friend, no matter what you’re doing, become an expert in it. Become the standout guy!
I am sure you have somebody in mind you will readily recommend, if you are asked to recommend a musician from your church choir for a competition. What will make you recommend him above all else is skill.
The question is, can anybody make such recommendation about you in your own area of work or gift? If not, roll up your sleeves and get down to work. Get dirty until you polish your skill to world standard. That is the quality needed in the palace.
The third quality is “mighty valiant man” (1 Samuel 16:18). This speaks of courage or boldness. No matter how skilful you are, until you have the courage to step out and display it you will remain a dwarf in life and destiny.
Beloved, you must kill every “stage fright” if you must take your place in the King’s palace. I have seen people of average skill but with boldness defeat people of greater skills but who were timid. Boldness and courage are qualities you cannot afford to lack on the world stage.
When God met Joshua after the death of Moses, he couldn’t do much with him until He pumped courage into him. A timid man will always run away from challenges. Fathering and skills were key components that took David to the palace, but I can assure you that courage kept him there.
To be continued…
