Problems in high places-5
1 Samuel 16:14 “But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.”
1 Samuel 16:15 “And Saul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.”
…From yesterday…
We have laid the foundation for this piece and seen David and Hiram solve problems in high places. Now, let’s talk about one of the reasons why this piece was written.
One of the major reasons is to reveal to us, why these people were the ones selected to solve those problems and what it will take for you and I to be sent for in high places as well.
Like I said earlier, it won’t cost God anything to go into any “palace” and create a problem for you to solve but then he has to see certain traits in you.
God is not interested in promoting a fool that will get to the palace and disgrace him.
Let us see certain traits in the life of these two men:
1 Samuel 16:17 “And Saul said unto his servants, Provide me now a man that can play well, and bring [him] to me.”
1 Samuel 16:18 “Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, [that is] cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD [is] with him.’
1 Samuel 16:18 “One of the young men spoke up, “I know someone. I’ve seen him myself: the son of Jesse of Bethlehem, an excellent musician. He’s also courageous, of age, well-spoken, and good-looking. And GOD is with him.” (MSG)
I see seven character traits in David that made him to be recommended for the palace. These are qualities kings are searching for and these qualities are found in the life of every genuine problem solver that knows his or her onions well.
Take note that in 1 Samuel 16:17 Saul stated the quality he wanted, just one, that is; a man that can play music well.
To be continued…
