Genesis 21:19 “And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.”
…From  yesterday…
God called out of heaven to her and what He said demands a critical look. God said, “…God hath heard the voice of the lad where he [is].”
Can you imagine that? Two people in the same situation and God heard the voice of the son but not of the mother.
The question is, Why?
I took a critical look at that scripture and the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to understand the difference between the two voices.
Hagar lifted up her voice and wept but the lad lifted up his voice and probably asked for water. Look at that scripture in The Message translation:
Genesis 21:17 “…God has heard the boy and knows the fix he’s in.” (MSG)
God heard the boy and knows the fix he’s in. I saw from here that the boy didn’t just lift up his voice he made a request. He told God he needed water, he told God the fix he was in!
Friend, at the moment of despair do you just cry or ask God for help? God needs you to be specific about your needs. The issue is that many times when challenges come, most people cry and leave it at that expecting God to intervene. They act as though, “God is not blind, so He should understand and do something”.
Many also cry and report the issue to every other person around but God. Well, I have long realised that heaven needs us to be detailed and specific about our requests.
In the case of Hagar and her son, heaven saw their tears but waited for further instructions, none came from the mother but the child asked for water. Let me show you a similar example:
Mark 10:46 “And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.”
