Bread and water bottle-1

Genesis 21:14 “And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave [it] unto Hagar, putting [it] on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.”
Sarah eventually had her way and Abraham sent Hagar and her son Ishmael packing. That he sent them packing is however not the main issue, what baffled me was what he gave them.
Abraham was sending away Hagar and Ishmael, his first son for life and all he gave them was bread (probably a loaf) and a bottle of water! All around them was desert and even if he had given them a tank of water it wouldn’t be sufficient.
Abraham and Sarah knew the harshness of desert life, they had experienced famine before and knew what it means to be without food and water for days, yet all they gave was bread and a bottle of water.
Beloved, that is the best of men! Nothing man gives you will ever truly be enough. Whatever a man gives you is tantamount to a loaf of bread and a bottle of water, such is the nature of man. How do you do that to a woman that gave you a child?
Such is life, we see and hear it happen in our world on daily basis. We have seen masters who sent their apprentice away after several years of service with next to nothing.
We have seen companies fire a hardworking staff who has served for several years and put in his or her very best, but who was unjustly sacked because they don’t want to pay him compensation. So they look for the flimsiest of excuse to fire him.
Sarah just saw Ishmael “mocking” Isaac one day and she capitalised on it to “fire” him and her mum as well.
Genesis 21:9 “And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.”
The Hebrew word used for mocking is also translated “playing”!
