Use and Dump-6

Genesis 21:10 “Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, [even] with Isaac.”
…From yesterday…
You may say your father, mother or uncle made a promise to you and they kept it. You’re right, but the truth is that God helped them to fulfil it!
The point I am making is this, no matter who made a promise to you, still pray about it and trust God to help them keep it. What if they made the promise and meant well, but died before they could fulfil it? Will you go to the land of the dead to blame or fight them?
Beloved, don’t trust in man; let your absolute trust be in the Almighty God, the Creator of heaven and earth. Let me give you an advice from the great King David:
Psalms 118:8 “[It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”
Psalms 118:9 “[It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.”
David understood the principle of use and dump. He had a firsthand experience. King Saul had a challenge when Goliath and the Philistines waged war against Israel. David went out to fight them and won.
Before the combat, King Saul had promised to give whoever killed Goliath his daughter to wife and also make him wealthy, among other things. But after the battle, King Saul spent about 13 years pursuing David so he could kill him!
He used David and wanted to dump him out of planet earth, but because David’s trust was not in man but God, he ended up on Saul’s throne.
Beloved, learn to rely absolutely on God. Men may use you and dump you, but God will elevate you. God is an expert in turning around men’s misfortunes. Why not trust him absolutely?
As we will soon see, Sarah succeeded in using and dumping Hagar and Ishmael, but not God. Ishmael weathered the storm to become great in life as well.
Friend, “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” (Psalms 118:8), Selah!
