John 11:43 “And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.”
John 11:43 “Then he shouted, “Lazarus, come out!”” (MSG)
Finally, Jesus released the word that brought Lazarus out. He simply shouted, “Lazarus, come out!” Look at what happened next;
John 11:44 “And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.”
Lazarus simply obeyed and came out! Now, here is the challenge God is having with many people. God released the word of authority asking all to come out, but several people refuse to obey!
Many hear him the way Lazarus heard him, but they choose to remain there in the grave. The grave represents a place of no life, a place of absence of competition. A smelling place! A place of decay! A place of lack of progress and motivation! A place of retrogression and backwardness!
Beloved, that’s where many people are. Christ keeps calling and shouting, yet they choose to remain in the grave.
I have seen several people who have heard about Jesus but never followed him. They put his poster at home, yet don’t know jack about him.
Friend, what are you still doing with failure? What are you doing in that abusive relationship? What are you still doing with that unbeliever who keeps dragging you back into sin?
Hebrews 4:7 “…To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.”
Hebrews 4:7 “God keeps renewing the promise and setting the date as today, just as he did in David’s psalm, centuries later than the original invitation: Today, please listen, don’t turn a deaf ear…”
Aren’t you tired of the slum? Why are you still stubborn?
Beloved, if you won’t come out you will die and decay. Lazarus chose to obey him and he came out.
