Beloved, there is a major difference between somebody living in your house and a visitor!
King David clarified it for us; hear him:
Psalms 91:1 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
Psalms 91:2 “I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”
Psalms 91:3 “Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the noisome pestilence.”
Psalms 91:5 “Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; [nor] for the arrow [that] flieth by day;”
David said these promises are for those who dwell in the house of the Lord, not for visitors. He said there will be terror in the night and noisome pestilence, but because you are a dweller in his house, surely he will deliver you. I get afraid for so called believers who can’t even quote John 3:16 properly.
Friend, don’t let challenges of life meet you unexpectedly. Live prepared!
I use to wonder and ask the following questions: What do athletes do when not competing? The Olympics games comes once in 4 years and these athletes make so much money, yet you hardly hear of them till another Olympics.
What do footballers do with their time? These footballers are some of the wealthiest people around, yet they play just one match or two in a week!
I also ask: what do soldiers do when not at the war front? Do they just sleep and relax all day?
Friend, the answer is simple; they train and prepare for the next competition, next game or next battle!
