LESSONS FROM LAZARUS Remove the Stone

John 11:39 “Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been [dead] four days.”
Today, we will continue from where we stopped on Lessons from Lazarus, as we move ahead in this great year.
In our focal scripture, Jesus gave them an instruction, he said,
“Take ye away the stone.” This instruction was not a mere instruction; it was a command.
In our previous meditations, we saw Jesus ask them where they laid him, and they showed him the place. On getting there, he gave them this instruction, which is our focal scripture for today.
Beloved, the stone here represents limitations. In the Greek, the word stone as used here means, “something that makes us stumble”.
It means the thing that limits us and makes us fall! And the Greek word Jesus used for “take away” means “raise upwards” or elevate.
Jesus was simply saying, “Remove every obstacle that has limited you and raise or elevate your thinking or thought pattern”.
Jesus was saying, change your mind; do away with unbelief. Friend, what restrictions or limitations have you placed on yourself? Which one has the enemy place on you?
God is saying, “Son, I want to help you, but just get the limits off!” Remove those stones! You placed the limits there by yourself and by agreeing with others; so get them off.”
Please, don’t be like Martha who kept giving excuses as to why the stones must remain. She said they couldn’t remove the stone because the corpse was already stinking, and, besides, it was four days already.
Forget about the stinking nature of the problem and the lost time; Jesus is still saying remove the stone, take the limits off.
Rise in your mind; step up to the next level spiritually and mentally. Learn new things; strengthen your belief in Jesus; dead bones shall rise again!
To be continued…
