LESSONS FROM LAZARUS: Where Did You Lay Him?
John 11:34 “And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.”
Yesterday, we looked at the words of Jesus when he said, “…Thy brother shall rise again.” (John 11:23). After making that statement, he started issuing out some instructions to them en-route the perfection of the miracle. But before the instructions, he asked a thought-provoking question:
He said, “…Where have ye laid him?”
As I was meditating on the Lazarus story, I read this particular verse and moved ahead, but the Holy Spirit kept bringing it back to me.
For sure he said, Lazarus will live again, but then he asked, “Where did you lay him.” Friend, Jesus is asking us the same question today.
“At what point did you give up?”
“Where did you stop?”
“Who stopped you?”
Did you give up after you received the doctor’s report? Did you quit because the “expert” said it was impossible? Where did you lay it?
I love the response of Martha and co; they immediately replied, “Lord, come and see.”
Which relationship have you laid to rest because you feel it can’t rise again? Where did you lay that business?
Whatever project or matter you’ve given up on, thinking it’s impossible, just show him the place where you laid it and watch him infuse life back into it.
Matthew 19:26 “But Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”
Mark 10:27 “Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”” (NLT)
Never say never with God! Have you been unjustly laid off work? Show him. Where have you been cheated? Show him.
Perhaps you’ve given up on God and have stopped going to church. As you’re reading this piece this morning, where is your bible? How is your relationship with Christ?
Friend, where did you lay him?
To be continued…
Love you BiG
