John 11:23 “Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.”
John 11:24 “Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
John 11:25 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:”
Martha made a statement here that contradicted the order and personality of Jesus Christ, but I love Jesus’ response to Martha; he corrected her on the spot. He seems to say, “Look woman, I am not confused here, I know what I said and what I am saying. I also don’t have an identity crisis. I know who I am”.
Beloved, don’t let the enemy confuse you or make you lesser than who you really are. Don’t let the enemy mess with your word declarations and true identity. Don’t let him call you a name you are not.
If you listen carefully to Martha’s statement, you will discover she made mention of Lazarus rising or coming back to life again and also of resurrection, but she never referred to Jesus as having anything to do with it.
The devil is smart and you must be careful how you respond. The key here is knowing the word thoroughly and also your true identity in Christ.
Do you know who you are? Better still, do you know who you are in Christ? Do you know what the new creation reality offers you?
Jesus didn’t have an identity crisis and He responded well. In the same way, we must all know the word and who we are in Christ. As believers we must know who we are. Don’t let the enemy scare you with threats to your life; he can’t get to where your life is! Hear this:
Colossians 3:3 “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”
Colossians 3:3 “Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your [real] life–even though invisible to spectators–is with Christ in God. [He] is your life.” (MSG)
