Titus 2:6 “Also, guide the young men to live disciplined lives.”(MSG)
Titus 2:6 “In a similar way, urge the younger men to be self-restrained and to behave prudently [taking life seriously].”(AMP)
…From yesterday…
If God can develop the discipline of prayer who are you not to?
We can see from the above scriptures that he prayed early in the morning, all through the day and even all night! It takes great discipline to do that. Beloved, what is your prayer life like?
I can assure you that if Jesus even though God prayed you cannot escape a disciplined prayer life!
You must pray and I must pray. I want to believe that Jesus could have come here and not pray and yet he would have performed all those miracles since he is God. But he prayed, why?
He prayed because he want to set us a pattern of a disciplined life. I trust many believers, if Jesus had not prayed the way he did, many would have said prayer is not called for, but one thing we must realise is that prayer is all about communication with God.
The discipline of prayer is what keeps us in touch with heaven. It tunes our spirit with His Spirit.
To commune according to dictionary simply means to converse together with confidence; to interchange sentiments or feelings; to take counsel.
The question is if you are not praying which God are you conversing with? Who do you exchange your feelings with and of course where are you taking counsel from? When your prayer altar is abandoned, you are definitely not a serious believer.
Jesus’ disciples studied him and discovered that one of the secrets for his outstanding achievements was prayer so they met him and asked him to teach them to pray.
Luke 11:1 “And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”
