Titus 2:6 “Also, guide the young men to live disciplined lives.”(MSG)
Titus 2:6 “In a similar way, urge the younger men to be self-restrained and to behave prudently [taking life seriously].”(AMP)
…From yesterday…
Friend, I am glad to let you know it was a borrowed concept which they adulterated, they got it from Christianity! Hear this:
Genesis 13:4 “Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD.”
The Bible says, “Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first…”! This shows us that was not the first time Abraham was communicating with God at the altar.
As a matter of fact the first thing he did when he got to the promised land was to build an altar unto the Lord:
Genesis 12:8 “And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, [having] Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.”
When he built his altar at first, he was poor, he hasn’t seen the promise of God fulfilled yet he knew that to be successful, there must be an altar where he receives instructions that will bring him fame.
This looks very simple and easy to do because many times we discover that problems drives many people to church. They pray and fast to achieve success but once they do, they forget all about the altar. This however was not the case of Abraham. Before he returned to his altar in Genesis 13:4, he had become extremely wealthy.
Genesis 13:2 “And Abram [was] very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.”
Gen1esis 13:3 “And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai;”
Abraham became rich yet he didn’t forget his altar. How did he do this? He did it by discipline! He built prayer into his system!
To be continued…
