Who is in Your Boat?-4

Jonah 1: 4 “But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken”
Jonah 1: 5 “Then the mariners were afraid and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay and was fast asleep”
…From yesterday…
Beloved, many times in our journey through life we travel with the wrong company. We travel with people who can scare us. We move in the company of people who have disobeyed or are disobeying God somewhere in some corner of their lives.
We’ve simply got the wrong folks on the boat of our lives! Our boat could represent our job, destiny, career, and, of course the “ship of our relations”, which we call relationship! Many people are suffering not because they did anything wrong, but simply because they are in a boat with Prophet Jonah.
I remember reading the pathetic story of a young man that met an old school mate at a shopping mall. They exchanged numbers and he went visiting the following day. Unknown to him, his “old school mate” had become a notorious wanted criminal. The day he went visiting was the day the police came for his friend and he was arrested along with the gang. He ended up wasting almost 5 years of his life in prison, not because he was bad in himself, but because he got on the wrong boat.
Friend, Jonah will always rock your boat; beware. The sad part in the story of Jonah is that he was a Hebrew and Prophet of the Most High God. Beloved, don’t be deceived, not all that claim to be believers actually are. There are wolves in sheep clothing. The watch word here is discernment.
Don’t be too emotional about your relationships, always do an analysis and review your “friend-ships”.
To be continued…
