Be a Thinker-4

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS.” (Emphasis mine)
…From yesterday…
Joshua 1:8 Let this book of the law be ever on your lips and in your THOUGHTS day and night, so that you may keep with care everything in it; then a blessing will be on all your way, and you will do well. (BBE)
Thinking determines how successful you will be.
The word “meditate” simply means to give something a DEEP or QUALITY THOUGHT. The Bible in Basic English translation says, “…let it be in your thoughts day and night…”
The only clause there is that God told us what to think about. If God can tie success to thought, then we cannot but become great and deep thinkers.
The most famous and successful businessman in the world, Bill Gates, happens to be the richest man in the world as well. I read his biography and I have this extract from it for you:
“When Bill Gates was in the sixth grade, his parents decided he needed counseling. He was at war with his mother Mary, an outgoing woman who harbored the belief that he should do whatever she told him, (I bet you know such mothers).
She would call him to dinner from his basement bedroom, which she had given up trying to make him clean, and he wouldn’t respond.
“What are you doing?” she once demanded over the intercom.
“I’m thinking,” he shouted back.
“You’re thinking?”
“Yes, Mom, I’m thinking,” he said fiercely. “Have you ever tried thinking? Mum, don’t you think?””
Bill Gates was a youth given to thinking. I guess we should not be surprised he has turned out to be the richest man on this planet, a feat he has maintained for several years.
To be continued…
