God, on Your Terms-11

Deuteronomy 5:33 “Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and [that it may be] well with you, and [that] ye may prolong [your] days in the land which ye shall possess.”
Deuteronomy 5:33 “Walk straight down the road GOD commands so that you’ll have a good life and live a long time in the land that you’re about to possess.” (MSG)
…From yesterday…
2 Kings 5:14 “Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.”
Each time we meet God on His terms we get the required result.
God’s terms might not be consistent with what we know or our education and professional trainings, but He is not bothered about that. He sure has His own terms and sets them in place without consulting you; all He needs from you is absolute obedience.
Back to our rich, righteous ruler: after Jesus gave him God’s terms of reference, he went away sorrowful.
Matthew 19:21 “Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go [and] sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come [and] follow me.”
Matthew 19:22 “But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.”
It was what happened when he left that is very interesting to me. This man missed a chance of a life time! The instructions of God are not meant to hurt or mar us, but rather to make us.
They are meant to give us access to a dimension of result we never knew existed. God’s terms give God kind of result!
How do I know? Hear what Peter said after he left:
Matthew 19:27 “Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?”
