God, on Your Terms-10

Deuteronomy 5:33 “Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and [that it may be] well with you, and [that] ye may prolong [your] days in the land which ye shall possess.”
Deuteronomy 5:33 “Walk straight down the road GOD commands so that you’ll have a good life and live a long time in the land that you’re about to possess.” (MSG)
…From yesterday…
2 Kings 5:12 “[Are] not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.”
He said he thought the Prophet would come out to meet him, call upon God and touch the place! He was even wondering why God would not tell him to go bathe in some better and more hygienic rivers! He probably had swimming pools at home that were well treated; why on earth then would God send him to river Jordan of all rivers!
Each time I study this portion one question that normally props up in my mind is “Who is sick??” “Who is leprous?” “Who needs help?”
If Naaman knew better, I felt he would have gone to those rivers and got healed. Instead he travelled several kilometers only to disobey a direct order! Who does that? As a General he should have known better that an order is an order. Yet he disobeyed!
Friend, before we continue blaming General Naaman, what about you? Many people are in this category. We keep disobeying God’s direct orders, and, to make matters worse, blame Him! Friend, God sure knows what He is doing and His terms always lead to peace and abundance, as in the case of our dear General.
2 Kings 5:14 “Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.”
Each time we meet God on His terms we get the required result.
To be continued…
