Deuteronomy 5:33 “Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and [that it may be] well with you, and [that] ye may prolong [your] days in the land which ye shall possess.”

Matthew 19:20 “The young man said, “I’ve done all that. What’s left?””
Wow! What a man! He was rich and powerful, but felt something was still missing in his life. He felt he had achieved so much as a man and so needed to step up to the realm of God. So, he asked Jesus how to get to that next level. Jesus told him about the basics; he told him the terms of man!
Guess what, this guy didn’t even wait for Jesus to finish speaking before he started flaunting his rich and intimidating CV.
He bragged about having fulfilled all that; he even had the audacity to ask Jesus if there was anything left. He was telling Jesus in plain terms to bring on whatever was left. He was sure he was up to the task!
Hear Jesus’ next statement:
Matthew 19:21 “Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go [and] sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come [and] follow me.”
Matthew 19:22 “But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.”
Jesus simply told him, “You’ve done well, you have tried; but the result you have is at the level of men, simple stuff. If you need to come to my level and get the God kind of result then here are my terms:
Matthew 19:21 “”go sell your possessions; give everything to the poor. All your wealth will then be in heaven. Then come follow me.”” (MSG)
Jesus told him, “Heaven and next level is possible, but on God’s terms! The guy buried his CV and quickly left church!
Beloved, only God can satisfy Himself!
