God, on Your Terms-3

Deuteronomy 5:33 “Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and [that it may be] well with you, and [that] ye may prolong [your] days in the land which ye shall possess.”
Deuteronomy 5:33 “Walk straight down the road GOD commands so that you’ll have a good life and live a long time in the land that you’re about to possess.” (MSG)
…From yesterday…
I struggled to find my way, but all efforts proved abortive. After struggling for some time, my wife suggested we asked for direction. So, I decided to ask. I approached a young man with all courtesy and humility, the kind of respect you show to anybody that is in a position to help you when you’re in a mess.
The young man told us to drive straight on for about 4km and then turn left. I did that quite alright, but after driving for about 3km, the terrain became very familiar and I “became sure of the road”. By the 4km mark I turned right.
Trust women! My wife said, “But the young man said left!” I told her I was at that point very sure of the road. I told her she should understand that some people don’t know their right from their left. She said, “But we should listen to him.”
Well, I felt I knew the road better than my guide. At the end of the day, we were lost totally! I didn’t just get lost, I got lost with my wife and the car…hmm. How often we mess things up because we wouldn’t listen! The irony is that our disobedience oftentimes misleads others as well.
I never knew that the road had experienced a total overhaul. I lost my way completely! I wasted about 30minutes trying to figure things out.
Eventually we got back to the same spot and as God would have it we met the same young man again. Who knows if he was an angel!
To be continued…
