The Lion, the Bear and the Giants-2

1 Samuel 17:34 “And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:”
1 Samuel 17:36 “Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.”
…From yesterday…
The lion’s greatest weapon against its prey is fear! The lion uses fear to isolate its prey if they are in groups. It also loves to isolate the weak, young and sickly ones that won’t put up much of a fight.
The Lion can move quickly and very fast. Although several animals can outrun it, one thing it has is diehard resilience. It wears out its prey by remaining on its trail for as long as it takes! A lion kills mostly by suffocating its prey, attacking it by the throat.
Another thing to note is that the lion attacks from the front.
Before we look at its application to us, let us learn about the bear’s strategy. The bear in its own case is an animal that kills or attacks from behind. Bears also stalk their prey before silently attacking it from behind in most cases. Bears are equally ferocious and deadly.
Back to our focal scripture, the first thing to note here is that this particular lion and bear didn’t come separately, they attacked the same lamb at the same time!
They both took the lamb! The lion attacked it from the front while the bear did it from the back. They were both contending for the same prize! There were probably other lambs in the fold, but both went for this particular one.
Also note that they didn’t go for a sheep; they went for a lamb. A lamb is simply a sheep at infancy! A lamb is a sheep that is yet to mature.
Remember, that both lions and bears stalk their prey before they attack. Lions kill from the front, bears from the back.
