Paul came on the scene and swallowed what God said hook, line and sinker. When Paul received the instruction, he knew that men would laugh at him and might even try to discourage him or termed him insane. So, he first left those folks and went to Arabia to understand the full weight and details of his call and also receive clearer instructions.
Galatians 1:15 “But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called [me] by his grace,”
Galatians 1:16 “To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:”
Galatians 1:17 “Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.”
Paul knew if he had rushed to those folks that were Apostles before him they would have discouraged him. I am sure Peter would have told him, “I also saw this kind of vision several years ago and I said, “I won’t touch an unclean thing, so please Paul, you’re a small boy in these matters, don’t touch anything unclean.”
Paul would have probably listened to Peter, especially as Peter was Jesus’ right hand man, whereas he, Paul, never met Jesus in person!
Friend, run away from men that have a strong voice that might want to drown out the voice of God in your life! Men that will want to use human experience to convince you against divine order.
Men who operate by flesh and blood, and not by the Spirit. Men who can use human permutations to explain away spiritual things. Be very clear and certain of what God has told you. Your bible is the ultimate test for clarity. It will always keep you within safe zone.
