Embrace Something Brand New -6

Isaiah 43:19 “Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.”(MSG)
…From yesterday…
It was also to involve bringing out water from a rock:
Exodus 17:6 “Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.”
It also involved bringing down bread from the bakery of heaven to feed men with angels’ food! Up till then we didn’t know there was bakery in heaven!
Psalms 78:24 “And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.”
Psalms 78:25 “Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat to the full.”
You know we read these stories from the bible now and enjoy it. We even blame people that misbehaved! But if you read your bible with imagination you will appreciate certain things.
I once imagined asking my dad for food and he replying, “Not to worry, son, God is baking some bread for His angels in heaven and He will throw some down for us to eat when He’s done!”
If you were in that situation, what would you think of your dad? That was the scenario. I am sure now your religious mind can’t even comprehend there is bakery in heaven, not to talk of corn in heaven!
Moses’ assignment will also involve using untrained men to fight and win a war against well trained and better equipped soldiers.
Moses scored a lot of “firsts” for which we are still celebrating him today.
What if Moses had stayed back in Egypt to become the next Pharaoh?
That’s the point at which many of us fail. We fail because we choose to remain at our comfort zone by refusing to embrace the new! Friend, God is still saying;
To be continued…
