Luke 9:52 “And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.”
Luke 9:53 “And they did not receive him…”
Luke 9:56 “…And they went to another village.”
…From yesterday…
John 4:40 “So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.”
John 4:41 “And many more believed because of his own word;”
John 4:42 “And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard [him] ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.”
The same folks that pushed Jesus out in a very humiliating manner now came to bow and worship him!
The same Jesus, the same town and the same set of people! Permit me to say the same Paul Pogba, the same Manchester United and the same city!
Now, let us pick some lessons from this story about Jesus and see how we can move from “being sold for £1m to being bought for £89m by the same folks”.
The first thing I want us to note here is that when people push you out, you must never push yourself out!
People’s assessment and opinion of you shouldn’t be your opinion of yourself; the only correct opinion of you is what God says about you; it supersedes whatever any man tells you.
The fact that people don’t see value in you now does not make you valueless. You must not flog yourself. Some people are blind, whereas others are simply being myopic.
It will even shock you to know that others can push you out simply because they feel threatened by your potentials! I’ve seen that play out several times.
Beloved, no matter the reason for your being pushed out, don’t blame them; don’t flog yourself; don’t blame God; don’t enter into depression and don’t ever give up on your gifts and potentials.
