Your husband may have given you the message that you can’t do anything right. Somewhere along the way, a teacher or a coach may have had a negative effect on you.
This was the problem of the Israelites in our focal scripture. They had been controlled all their lives by the Egyptians who were their taskmasters.
The Egyptians were of the same height with them, but nevertheless exercised control over them virtually in every aspect of their lives hitherto. The taskmasters told them what and when to eat, determined when they slept, woke up, played and worked.
This habitual control made them develop inferiority complex. They couldn’t seem to be able to do anything unless they were instructed, and most times with horsewhip. Then all of a sudden they came and saw giants, children of Anak that they were to confront in battle. Their mindset couldn’t just take it.
The same goes for many believers as well. Many have been controlled all their lives by the gods and deities in their localities. They grew up knowing only these controlling powers. And then they gave their lives to Christ, and began to hear that they are seated far above all principalities, devils, demons, etc. Their inferior mindset just couldn’t take it!
Some other persons simply take whatever life throws at them or watch as life moves them; they can’t just see the possibility of taking what they want out of life! They can’t take the bull of their lives by the horn.
These are some of the causes of inferiority or grasshopper complex.
The question then is, so, how do I break the yoke of inferiority complex?
The inferiority complex statement in our focal scripture was made by ten spies out of the twelve that were sent to spy out the land of the Anaks.
