The Power of Innovation-2

Genesis 30:37 “And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which [was] in the rods.”
Genesis 30:38 “And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink.”

Genesis 30:39 “And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted.”
…From yesterday…
Friend, there is nothing new under the sun, but you can create something new from the old things under the sun! This is what innovation is all about. God is a God of creativity and innovations. He knows how to take seemingly old and outdated stuff and carve out something new from it. No wonder He said:
Revelation 21:5 “And he that sat upon the throne said, BEHOLD, I MAKE ALL THINGS NEW. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”
He didn’t say here that He would make new things; He simply said He would make all things new, in other words, He would repackage old things and bring newness to them.
The word “New”, as used here, is a Greek word meaning “of a new kind”, “unprecedented”, “uncommon” and “unheard of”. It also means a new kind, putting together something new from old stuff. It means to make something old and common, uncommon!
It will interest you to know that scientists are simply making discoveries, and the so called inventions are simply the putting together of existing old stuff.
When we invent things, we do not create new raw materials. All of the raw materials are already in existence. Innovation simply recombines them in fresh ways.
A wise man said, “Everything that we call “new” is a new grouping of old things; the exact combination and the timing of the combination may be new, but the raw materials are not new.”
To be continued…
