Genesis 30:37 “And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which [was] in the rods.”
Genesis 30:38 “And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink.”

Genesis 30:39 “And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted.”
In this piece, I will like to put something in your hand that can change your life forever. It is called innovation.
Simply put, innovation means to alter, to change into something new or to revolutionize. It means to introduce something new to a particular environment or to do something new. Better still, it means to introduce something as new.
The truth of the matter is that there is truly nothing new under the sun!
Ecclesiastes 1:9 “The thing that hath been, it [is that] which shall be; and that which is done [is] that which shall be done: and [there is] no new [thing] under the sun.”
Ecclesiastes 1:10 “Is there [any] thing whereof it may be said, See, this [is] new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.”
This was a statement made by the wisest and richest man that ever lived on earth. The unfortunate thing, however, is that most people console themselves with this statement, using it as an excuse to live mediocre and average life.
Friend, there is nothing new under the sun, but you can create something new from the old things under the sun! This is what innovation is all about. God is a God of creativity and innovations. He knows how to take seemingly old and outdated stuff and carve out something new from it. No wonder He said:
Revelation 21:5 “And he that sat upon the throne said, BEHOLD, I MAKE ALL THINGS NEW…”
