Little Foxes-3
Song of Solomon 2:15 “Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines [have] tender grapes.”
Song of Solomon 2:15 “Our vineyards are in blossom; we must catch the little foxes that destroy the vineyards.”(CEV)
…From yesterday…
Mosquitoes kill 2.7 million people every year. Yes, the smallest are the deadliest!*
The smaller, the deadlier! Who will ever believe that mosquitoes and spiders are deadlier than lions! I mean lions that we call kings of the jungle! I am sure if you are like me which I know you are, you will rather prefer to share a room with mosquitoes overnight rather than spend a night with a lion or a buffalo!
As a matter of fact, one common insect in most homes are spiders! We see them almost on daily basis. When you get to some homes you might mistakenly take them for pets!
Many of us are however not aware of their deadly tendencies. I read recently that a family of 6 was wiped out after taking tea in the morning as they normally did.
After an autopsy and investigation, it was discovered that a spider was in the kettle with which they boiled water for the tea. The boiling actually extracted the spider’s poison into the water, and they drank it with the tea to their death!
The issue is this, that little seemingly insignificant thing can wreck a serious havoc. We must therefore protect ourselves against these little foxes that can do great harm to our vines.
Back to our focal scripture, we discover that these little foxes don’t just show up anywhere. They only show up at vines with grapes or at vines that are blossoming.
When a vine has no potential or nothing to offer, the foxes stay away. No wonder you see couples who fell head over heels in love with each other and got married suddenly start talking about divorce!
You see a successful businessman who loved the Lord suddenly starts skipping church.
To be continued…
