Maturity-5
1 Corinthians 13:11 “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things”.
…From yesterday…
2Corinthians 4:13 “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written I believed and therefore have I spoken, we also believe and therefore speak”
We can see clearly from here the correct pattern. It starts from Faith based on what is written to believing and finally speaking!
“Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God”, (Romans 10:17). When you meditate on that which you hear from the word of God by thinking about it, it produces belief which comes from understanding and comprehension before finally speaking.
When you think the word, it dictates and guides how you should behave, when you know how to behave, your actions and speeches will always be right!
Finally, how then do I become a Huios or a mature believer that is qualified for the best of God?
The principle of becoming a mature man or a Huios is loaded in the word “Put away”. Paul said, “…but when I became a man, I put away childish things” (1 Corinthians 13:11b)
The word “Put away”, from the Greek is translated, “to abolish”, “cease”, “deliver”, “destroy”, “do away”, “become (make) of no (none, without) effect” or “bring (come) to nought!
Those are very strong words. To be a child is automatic and easy; it doesn’t take any effort. But to become mature will take a serious effort and determination on your part. Growing is not easy, and that is why many people choose to remain Nepios.
Paul said, “I had to put childishness away.” He had to abolish it and breakaway from it. Friend, whatever it will take for you to grow, please pay the price and grow up. Make the effort and do away with “babyish” stuff.
Remember, we are all born to childishness, but we all have a choice to become mature or remain babies.
