Judges 3:1 “These are the nations that GOD left there, using them to test the Israelites who had no experience in the Canaanite wars.”
Judges 3:2 “He did it to train the descendants of Israel, the ones who had no battle experience, in the art of war.”(MSG)
Judges 3: 2 “Only that the generations of the children of Israel might know to teach them war, at the least such as before knew nothing thereof;” (KJV)
…From yesterday…
When the full meaning of this text hit me, several things became apparent in my life and those of others. Beloved, that stubborn issue in your life is still there to keep you on your feet and bring out the fighter in you. God wants to use it to strengthen your spirit man. Once you overcome it promotion comes and you naturally move to the next level.
Once you get to the next level, it’s a different ball game.
Every new level has new demons and devils to conquer to retain the new position and also to get promotion to the next. This continues all through life.
If you lose the will to fight, you remain stagnant and never promoted. This is the principle in most offices. To get promoted in the workplace, many times you are required to write promotional exams. Once you pass you get promoted, but you must also have it at the back of your mind that new examinations or “fight” await you.
Permit me to share something I once heard about the way a company transports catfish from one location to another.
This fishing company transports cat fishes by keeping them in different compartments containing water. Each cubicle contains a fish and the cubicles are stacked up and transported over long distances for several hours. The company however discovered that by the time they arrived at their destination most of the fishes are weak and dead.
They also discovered that the ones that are alive when prepared for table are not delicious.
To be continued…
