1 Samuel 11:1 “Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabeshgilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.”
1 Samuel 11:2 “And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this [condition] will I make [a covenant] with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it [for] a reproach upon all Israel.”

Friend, could it be you’ve been praising without understanding? Praise and worship is not what we do to wait for the church to be filled up before service commences. It is not even what you do because you woke up excited. It is a weapon that brings God into a situation and turn Him against your enemies.
The second weapon I will like to talk about in this piece is what I call prayer. Yes, prayer!
As a pastor, I’ve seen many people run into problems and only use prayer as a last resort. They pray concerning the situation when all else have failed! I am sure you’ve been there. Many times when issues come up in our lives, the first thing we think of is who to call; who do I know that can solve this problem for me?
We make a list of everybody that can help us out and then we start ticking the list until it is exhausted. When we run out of options we then remember we should pray or consult our pastor.
My spiritual father said, you see people in trouble and they tell you, “We have done everything possible; all we are doing now is pray!” In other words, we are praying to see if the option of God can work! How sad!
I think many of us developed this attitude towards prayer because of the way we were brought up. We were told in “children Sunday school” that we should pray when we wake up; we should pray before eating; we should pray when we get to church; we should pray before sleeping, etc.
We were never told that prayer is a weapon or ever told to expect tangible results after praying.
