1 Samuel 11:1 “Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabeshgilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.”
1 Samuel 11:2 “And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this [condition] will I make [a covenant] with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it [for] a reproach upon all Israel.”
Nothing can hold God down. God cannot be caged, suppressed or stopped. When he shows up Victory shows up. One day Paul and Silas were held in prison. They were not even allowed to walk around in prison; they were chained down. I would have thought holding them behind bars was enough, but chaining them down in prison was sheer wickedness.
They however didn’t allow that bother them; they decided to trigger the weapon of praise, albeit without using it as a weapon.
Acts 16:25 “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.”
They simply prayed and sang praises innocently just to encourage themselves and lift their spirits.
Acts 16:26 “…suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken and immediately all the doors were opened and every one’s bands were loosed”
They praised God innocently, but because God always inhabits the praises of his people, He came down to enjoy Himself. Unfortunately for the enemies, nothing can stop God.
Prison was too small to contain Him; the demons that chained people down couldn’t withstand Him; the shut prison doors opened of their own accord. When praises go up, God comes down!
Friend, could it be you’ve been praising without understanding? Praise and worship is not what we do to wait for the church to be filled up before service commences. It is not even what you do because you woke up excited. It is a weapon that brings God into a situation and turn Him against your enemies.
To be continued…
