1 Samuel 11:1 “Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabeshgilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.”
1 Samuel 11:2 “And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this [condition] will I make [a covenant] with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it [for] a reproach upon all Israel.”
…From yesterday…
When we say something is “dummy”, it simply means it is unintelligent or foolish. I call these weapons of ours “dummy” because that is the way they appear to human reasoning but then they are so potent and can disarm any enemy and win any war if skilfully applied.
Beloved, permit me to introduce to you this first weapon, it is called Praise! I can imagine the look on your face. I know you expect something out of the blues but friend; I am talking about the same praise you’ve heard so much about. Could it be that your mindset concerning it has rendered it powerless in your case?
This same weapon you handle with levity has won several wars in the past and it’s still winning wars today! It might look foolish and dummy but then it is powerful, dangerous and lethal.
Why is this weapon so powerful?
The great King David told us a thing or two about the secret behind the potency of Praise as a weapon.
King David was a fighter all his life. He fought some of the most interesting wars in the Bible. As a matter of fact, he fought 66 battles in his life time and lost NONE! That speaks volume of his prowess in warfare.
If there is a man to learn warfare from it is definitely David. He told us about this weapon called Praise and why it can never fail. Hear him:
Psalm 47:7 “For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding”
Psalm 22:3 “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.”
To be continued…
