Fight -14
1 Samuel 11:1 “Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabeshgilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.”
1 Samuel 11:2 “And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this [condition] will I make [a covenant] with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it [for] a reproach upon all Israel.”
…From yesterday…
Now, let’s talk about the fight. I am not asking you to pick up knives or guns, that will be fighting at a low level. That’s not the fight you’re cut out for; you’re far superior to that! Hear this:
2Corinthians 10:4 “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)”
This scripture once again shows we are at war but then the weapons to fight this war are not physical. We don’t fight the way ordinary men fight. We are far superior to that. As Christians, if we fight the way the world fights, we will definitely lose.
Fighting the way they fight brings us to their level and when you engage the enemy at his level, he’ll definitely use experience to win us.
So, what are these weapons of ours? We will take a look at one or two of them in this piece, a soldier’s ability to use his weapons well determine his success in battle.
I took a critical look at these weapons and the first thing that struck me was that our weapons look “dummy” in nature! This is probably why many of us don’t even see them as weapons or use them in the first place.
When we say something is “dummy”, it simply means it is unintelligent or foolish. I call these weapons of ours “dummy” because that is the way they appear to human reasoning but then they are so potent and can disarm any enemy and win any war if skilfully applied.
To be continued…
