1 Samuel 11:1 “Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabeshgilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.”
1 Samuel 11:2 “And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this [condition] will I make [a covenant] with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it [for] a reproach upon all Israel.”
Saul didn’t just help win the war, he was enthroned! Prior to this encounter Saul was anointed king but was not enthroned. As a matter of fact he was not reckoned with, he was despised.
1 Samuel 10:27 But the children of Belial said How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace
The children of Belial even said it to his face; they didn’t just despise him they refuse to give him a gift which is a customary thing to do for kings.
But then all that changed in one night. These same folks rally round Saul and were ready to kill anybody who want to oppose his enthronement. They were bent on making him king over them at all cost.
Beloved, your throne has been waiting, in actual fact sons of men have been waiting to help you get there all along, the issue has been your refusal to fight for it.
The king Nahash of this world will always want to test your resolve to ascend the throne. Many people are eyeing that throne but you need to let them know it’s rightfully yours. The world belongs to fighters.
That promotion has been waiting, your appointment letter, your health, your wealth name it, are all waiting for you but you must fight.
Now, let’s talk about the fight. I am not asking you to pick up knives or guns, that will be fighting at a low level. That’s not the fight you’re cut out for; you’re far superior to that! Hear this:
