1 Samuel 11:1 “Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabeshgilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.”
1 Samuel 11:2 “And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this [condition] will I make [a covenant] with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it [for] a reproach upon all Israel.”
…From yesterday…
The devil is wicked. They diagnosed you with headache, and you said, “No problem, just give me a pain killer (appeasing the headache or Nahash). But suddenly, the pain killer didn’t work! You then went for another check up, and they said it is brain tumour!
You shouted, wondering where it came from. The issue is that you’ve been trying to appease Nahash! You don’t appease the enemy; you rise up and fight him!
On hearing the evil news from Nahash, the men of Jabesh reported back to their brethren his condition. They all broke down in tears.
1 Samuel 11:4 “Then came the messengers to Gibeah of Saul, and told the tidings in the ears of the people: and all the people lifted up their voices, and wept.”
What is that news doing to you? They told you about an impending sack in your office, a failure in school, a disease situation or a business failure, and you’re weeping?
Friend, you need your bible sense now more than ever to know that Nahash is at it again. You shouldn’t have gone begging in the first place. Your first move was totally wrong.
You should have called Home; inform them at Heaven, our Supreme Headquarters that somebody or some situation is challenging you to a fight. That problem does not deserve your tears at all. You must know what to do, instead of crying.
1 Samuel 11:5 “And, behold, Saul came after the herd out of the field; and Saul said, What [aileth] the people that they weep? And they told him the tidings of the men of Jabesh.”
