2 Corinthians 11:25 “Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;”
2 Corinthians 11:26 “[In] journeyings often, [in] perils of waters, [in] perils of robbers, [in] perils by [mine own] countrymen, [in] perils by the heathen, [in] perils in the city, [in] perils in the wilderness, [in] perils in the sea, [in] perils among false brethren;”
…From yesterday…
Peter had a dogged conviction as well. Hear this:
Acts 2:13 “Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.”
Acts 2:14 “But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all [ye] that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:”
Acts 2:15 “For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is [but] the third hour of the day.”
Acts 2:16 “But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;”
Men looked at Peter and his colleagues and concluded they were drunk! Peter and co. were so consumed with passion and conviction that men couldn’t understand them. Men will always say discouraging words to a man of conviction but it’s left for him to accept or repel the discouraging words. Others might be confused, but you definitely must not.
Let your conviction about God and your assignment be 200%. Peter a man of conviction stood up, spoke and others were convinced as well. We saw the power of conviction at work all through the earthly ministry of all the Apostles.
I have met several believers who believe Jesus is the healer, Jesus is the miracle worker, Jesus is the provider, but who cannot boldly say, Jesus is my healer, Jesus is my miracle worker and my provider. Some don’t even know if they’re still born again or not! They don’t even know if being born again is actually a real experience or just the imagination of their pastor!
To be continued…
