Philippians 3:17 “Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.” (NKJV)
Philippians 3:17 “Stick with me, friends. Keep track of those you see running this same course, headed for this same goal.”(MSG)
Hebrews 6:12 “That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
…From yesterday…
The next example to follow is one of my favourite bible characters by name David. We also have a catalogue of stuffs to learn from him, but my focus is this; never get afraid of giants!
Friend, it doesn’t matter what your vision is; as long as it has greatness in it you will have to face giants! I don’t mean to scare you, but then the truth must be told. These giants usually come in different shapes, forms and sizes, and they confront us daily.
The issue is that many times when they show up, we avoid them, play the artful dodger, brush them aside or run away from them, but yet wondering why our dreams are not fulfilled.
To help you out, some of these giants are capital or fund to execute that project or start that business, fear of the unknown, intimidation, people’s opinions, your own mindset and even examinations. These are some of the giants we all have to face or confront daily.
Come to think of it; without a student writing and passing an examination, can he be promoted to the next class (or level)? We all love to move to the next level, yet, we are afraid of the examination giant, what an irony!
Friend, no one has ever done anything significant in life that did not confront and defeat a giant somewhere along the line!
We know the story of David from 1Samuel 17, how he faced the giant called Goliath and brought down his head. From then on he became a world acclaimed hero, later mounting the throne, and till date the most decorated war hero and king in Israel.
To be continued…
