Handle the Problem-7
Exodus 14:15 “And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward”
Exodus 14:16 “But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.”
God told Moses to lift it up and stretch it over the problem, and then divide it. Friend, what rod are you stretching against the enemy? What chapter and verse?
That intimidating enemy needs some serious “flogging” but you must have the right “cane”.
Go into the word and pick the right rod.
Moses used the rod to deal with the whole land of Egypt, but, unfortunately, he forgot all he needed to do is to still pick up the rod when he came face-to-face with the red sea.
The rod swallowed all the “snakes” in Egypt, turned the water to blood, brought flies and locusts and several other plagues against Egypt, but he forgot that that same rod was still able to give him answers to the new challenges in his life.
How often do we behave like this! We suddenly seem to think that a current challenge is so overwhelming that prayer might not help!
I have heard people say things like, “This problem is so terrible, and we have tried everything, all we are doing now is to pray!” Meaning we have given up and only doing ceremonial prayer while waiting for something to happen, if it will.
The truth is that if they believe in the efficacy of prayer they wouldn’t do other things first and pray last. They would pray first, seek God’s direction and then take steps. People leave their bibles closed while crying and seeking for help here and there.
Moses was crying to God for solution while he left his “rod or bible” closed!
