Curing Lameness-14
Acts 3:7 “And he took him by the right hand, and lifted [him] up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength.”
…From yesterday…
In the above verse, Peter had to go beyond speaking to acting. In verse 6 of Acts 3, Peter commanded the lame man to rise up and walk, but he didn’t. He found it difficult to shake off the lameness. He had been so used to the situation that mere speaking couldn’t help him.
Friend, do more than speaking, ACT! Faith is not just in words, it is also in action! Your belief and speaking must be backed up by a corresponding acton.
Peter didn’t just speak and give up, he acted. He held the man by the right hand and lifted him. Beloved, I know you know the word and can recite it effortlessly, but then how much of it do you do? Remember:
James 2:26 “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
James 2:26 “The very moment you separate body and spirit, you end up with a corpse. Separate faith and works and you get the same thing: a corpse.”(MSG)
Back up your faith with corresponding action!
Also note that in some of those areas of lameness, you might need a mentor. Somebody who has travelled that road before.
One of the reasons Peter asked the lame man to look on them is because they were standing. In order to stand you must look at those who are standing. You become what you behold!
Peter took him by the right hand and pulled him up. A mentor is one who can grab your right hand and pull you up! He knows what it means to walk; he knows how to handle that lameness. He knows when you need a hand and is ready to offer it willingly. We all need them in our lives. They make our journey to destiny easy.
Once you allow your “Peter” to pull you up the other areas of your life that are lame will automatically receive strength and lameness will disappear!
To be continued…
