Curing Lameness-13
Acts 3:6 “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”
…From yesterday…
Come to think of it, what do you think they’re paying you for in that office? I am sure you’re thinking it’s your certificate, well, in a way you’re right, but the truth is that they’re paying you for the “value” you bring to the organisation.
That “value” is immaterial but it has been attracting its material equivalent into your life.
I have seen fresh graduates walk into organisations with nothing but their skills and walk out with official cars, official houses and other benefits.
That young chap you’re envying in your office for his rapid promotion and pay raise is doing nothing but adding more value to the organisation than you! Friend, wise up! Remember what Peter and John did:
Acts 3:1 “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, [being] the ninth [hour].”
They “went up together”, in the Greek it means “grew up together”, when they grew up, men looked unto them to receive arms from them. It’s time for you to develop values that can become cash!
Beloved, your greatest treasure is the rich deposit of virtue you have developed in your spirit. You have been too materialistic; that is why some lameness has refused to go away. You must be balanced first “within” and the “without” will be taken care of.
As we begin to draw this meditation to a close, let’s consider another thing:
Acts 3:7 “And he took him by the right hand, and lifted [him] up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength.”
In the above verse, Peter had to go beyond speaking to acting. In verse 6 of Acts 3, Peter commanded the lame man to rise up and walk, but he didn’t. He found it difficult to shake off the lameness.
To be continued…
