Curing Lameness-7

Acts 3:1 “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, [being] the ninth [hour].”
Acts 3:2 “And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;”
Acts 3:3 “Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.”
…From yesterday…
We can see from here that this man has been lame because he had no foundation! He wasn’t standing on the rock, he knows nothing about Christ and what He can give and do.
The word lame in the Greek as used here (Acts 3:2) also means to be standing in an inferior position or condition! This lame man has been standing in an inferior position. He was standing upon the sand which has no “stone” to support his weight! Hear this:
1 Corinthians 3:11 “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
Romans 8:32 “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”
Peter and John means, Christ the sure foundation that can give anything we will ever desire and need! Christ gave us everything he has till he gave us his very life.
The day this lame man decided to look and ask for help from Christ the rock and gracious giver, the tide turned in his favour. Beloved, the starting point and cure for any type of lameness is accepting Christ as our Lord and saviour. He is the sure foundation that can support our weight, weaknesses and supply the strength needed to cure our weaknesses.
Why not look on him today and exchange your lameness for the strength only Christ can give!
To be continued…
