The Exchange-15

Hebrews 12:2 “Keep your eyes on [Jesus], who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed–that exhilarating finish in and with God–he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s [there], in the place of honor, right alongside God.”(MSG)

…From yesterday…
Christ knew what he was doing when he was enduring the cross! God knew what He wanted when He sent His only begotten son and allowed him to die such a painful death!
They both knew the harvest they were expecting. The issue is do you know what you need to exchange for the joy that has been set before you?
Our focal scripture says we should, “…Study how he (Jesus) did it…” and of course, how God the Father did it too! The bible says, “He could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame and whatever.” Can you put up with the cross and shame? The flogging, discouragement and weariness? What’s your endurance level?
The word cross here is translated to mean self denial, stand still, to stand immovable, stand firm and to refuse to waiver!
Friend, for that joy you so much desire, there is a self denial,  standing firm and becoming immovable or doggedly to it. You must locate it and act it!
Beloved, there was this man of God who preached a power-packed sermon. I covet the grace of God upon his life. I wish I can preach like that and speak like him. He had so much grace and power. I wish he will just lay hands on me and I will contact the same grace by impartation.
But, friend, that was not the case. This man said he fasts at least three times a week, prays for almost six hours a day and aside the consults over seventy books, journals and materials to prepare for the power packed sermon!
To be continued …
