Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
…From yesterday…
I started the training but was Extra-commited. I resumed before everybody and closes after everybody. I was always the first in everything and before long everybody in the office saw me as the errand boy. I was the one they sent to buy them snacks and refreshments.
Before long they gave me the office key to hold since I come before everybody. In no time I became the office cleaner doing all the dirty and odd jobs. I clean the office and get it set before the regular staff resumes.
I do all this with joy and deadly commitment. I gave my best and all the extra I could. The only days I close early are my fellowship days. That I don’t compromise!
I served with the whole of my strength without complaining knowing that one day things will be better. I endured the cross despising the shame!
All this while the boss was secretly watching me without my knowledge, but one day he called me and promoted me from what seems like a cleaner or messenger position to a maintenance officer. It was really nothing but I was happy. I prayed like never before and increased my “extras”. I worked harder and had to treck a long distance to and from work each day.
After what seems like eternity, I got home from work on this faithful day thinking of what to eat before preparing for the next days work when I suddenly heard a knock on the door. I opened and behold it was my boss! I never knew how he got to know my apartment.
To cut the long story short, he said he has been observing me and has seen my hard work and the extra-efforts I put in to make the business grow. He said he has seen how I served without complaining.
To be continued…
