Extra Mile-5

Matthew 5:41 “And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.”
Matthew 5:41 “And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.” (NKJV)
…From yesterday…
Friend, stop getting mad at that your colleague that seems to always close late. Stop accusing him of painting the rest of you in bad light. He knows what he is doing; he is simply standing out by doing more than required!
Don’t get angry because he was the only one promoted and recommended by the boss for those foreign trips. He earned it by doing more! If you’re not careful he will soon become your overall boss. How do I know?
Exodus 33:12 “And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.”
Here the man Moses was praying to God to have a successor, a competent hand that would become a great leader like him. He prayed a heartfelt prayer and God answered that prayer several years later after his death.
Joshua 1:1 “Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,”
Joshua 1:2 “Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, [even] to the children of Israel.”
Joshua 1:5 “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, [so] I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
God personally chose Joshua to take over the mantle of leadership from Moses, and he did excellently as he led the people to the Promised Land. The question to ask is: Why Joshua?
Remember, Moses prayed this prayer in Exodus 33:12, but guess what?
To be continued…
