Isaiah 53:7 “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.”
Isaiah 53:8 “He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.”
…From yesterday…
After 381 days of boycotting the busses, they went to the Supreme Court to prove that it was not legal to segregate blacks from whites on public transportation.
Eventually, the Supreme Court ruled that it was unconstitutional to separate people based on race. When the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the blacks, they knew it was going to change their way of life. They stopped segregation on busses, and it gave them a chance to stop segregation in other public establishments. (Story courtesy www.colorado.edu
Back to our focal scripture, Jesus, referred to here, suffered serious oppression, afflictions and humiliation. His properties were shared right in His presence. He was thrown into prison, and finally, cut off from the land of the living! How sad!
But how come they succeeded in doing all these to him? The answer is not far-fetched! It is repeated twice in that verse.
Isaiah 53:7 “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, YET HE OPENED NOT HIS MOUTH: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so HE OPENED NOT HIS MOUTH.”
“…YET HE OPENED NOT HIS MOUTH!”
Friend, the reason the enemy seems to be having a field day in your life and destiny is because “YOU’VE OPENED NOT YOUR MOUTH”.
Those stubborn afflictions and oppressions are the results of your closed mouth. The question is: when will you respond?
