Exodus 17:11 “It turned out that whenever Moses raised his hands, Israel was winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, Amalek was winning.”
Exodus 17:12 “But Moses’ hands got tired. So they got a stone and set it under him. He sat on it and Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on each side. So his hands remained steady until the sun went down.”
Exodus 17:13 “Joshua defeated Amalek and its army in battle.” (MSG)
…From yesterday…
But not the man Moses. He humbled himself and gleaned wisdom from the old man. He quickly changed strategy and yielded to the voice of reason.
No wonder the bible calls him the meekest man on earth!
Numbers 12:3 “(Now the man Moses [was] very meek, above all the men which [were] upon the face of the earth.)”
Friend, it takes humility to receive help. People avoid the proud and arrogant like a plague. Learn meekness; master your ego and help will always come to you in droves.
As I round up, permit me to tell you the meaning of the name Jethro. It means “to save over, preserve alive, rest”!
Friend, added to your Aaron and Hur should be Jethro! He’s the man sent to preserve you alive! Men that will help you stay safe and alive with all your anointing!
Moses had anointing to divide the Red Sea but lacked the anointing for administration. It took Jethro’s anointing to teach him that!
If only Samson had Jethro; if only Saul was humble enough to listen to Samuel his own Jethro…if only, if only, may that never be our portion in Jesus’ name.
As I noted early, Jesus was God; he carried the whole essence and power of the Father while here. He could have run a one-man show here on earth, but didn’t; so that you and I will know we all need each other in the pursuit of purpose!
Remember, the help of God comes our way oftentimes through people He sends into our lives as helping hands.
Never travel the road of life alone; always have your Aaron, Hur and Jethro handy!
