Exodus 17:11 “It turned out that whenever Moses raised his hands, Israel was winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, Amalek was winning.”
Exodus 17:12 “But Moses’ hands got tired. So they got a stone and set it under him. He sat on it and Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on each side. So his hands remained steady until the sun went down.”
Exodus 17:13 “Joshua defeated Amalek and its army in battle.” (MSG)

That’s very interesting. Moses hands became heavy; he saw wealth and prosperity, yet he needed men! That sounds ironic. But I have since discovered that many people feel they needed the help of others when they are dull, poor and sore; but they quickly discard them at the first appearance of wealth. How sad!
Beloved, you need people when you’re dull, poor and sore but you equally need them when prosperity comes! You will always need men at every stage of your life. Don’t ever think you’ve become so accomplished that you must now change your circle of friends who stood by you when there was nothing.
Aaron and Hur were there to help Moses when the war was sore; they were equally there when they were winning. Glean that lesson from this story; never you forget that.
As we begin to round up this meditation, let me point your attention to Aaron and Hur.
Aaron’s name from the Hebrew means “light bringer,” while Hur means ‘white linen or cloth”.
When the battle became dark, sore and confusion set in, Moses at that time needed light for direction, and he got it. When you are at some crossroads and dark alleys of life, you need a light bringer who will show you the way. The greatest light bringer of all is the person of the Holy Spirit; never you travel without Him. Also remember to go with men inspired by the Holy Spirit that can bring you light.
Your Hur means white linen or purity. These are the folks that can always put you in check especially on the verge of success.
