Helping Hand-8

Exodus 17:11 “It turned out that whenever Moses raised his hands, Israel was winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, Amalek was winning.”
Exodus 17:12 “But Moses’ hands got tired. So they got a stone and set it under him. He sat on it and Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on each side. So his hands remained steady until the sun went down.”
Exodus 17:13 “Joshua defeated Amalek and its army in battle.” (MSG)
…From yesterday…
In the journey of life, we will all come to a place that will slow us down, wear us out and make us sore and dull. That is why we must always have men that can help out in the pursuit of our assignments. A time will come you’ll feel like stopping, even against your will, because you’re helpless.
Moses could see that when his hands were raised, Israel won; and when they go down, Israel lost. Yet he couldn’t keep his hands up! Friend, on your journey of 2016, who are the “Aarons and Hur” travelling with you?
Beloved, even Jesus needed help to convey the cross to the place of crucifixion!
Matthew 27:32 “And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.”
If he hadn’t got that help at the time our salvation might not have been perfected. Was Jesus anointed? Yes, in fact, without measure; but he needed that help and got it! You’re not anointed without measure; don’t die before your time, Selah!
The second set of meanings for the word “heavy” are, “to be honoured, be rich, be weighty, be glorious, and be prosperous”.
That’s very interesting. Moses hands became heavy; he saw wealth and prosperity, yet he needed men! That sounds ironic. But I have since discovered that many people feel they needed the help of others when they are dull, poor and sore; but they quickly discard them at the first appearance of wealth. How sad!
