This Book of the Law-18

Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
…From yesterday…
Another thing to do while meditating is to start asking questions from the Holy Spirit. He authored the scriptures and was the only one present when those events took place and He also inspired the men who spoke and wrote down the scriptures.
You can never understand the bible and meditate accurately outside the HOLY SPIRIT. You need His help to clarify things for you. Always call on Him and cooperate with Him in your studies.
Finally, ask yourself how the verse or story relates to you. What you can learn and apply. Pick up wisdom for your own life!
4. THAT THOU MAYEST OBSERVE TO DO
Back to God’s instruction to Joshua: God told him to observe to do. It is only a foolish man that will go through the rigor of study and meditation and not do or act. The essence of all we have studied in this piece is to act!
None of what we have learnt will make a difference in our life if we don’t ACT or DO. The essence of observation is to know how to act or behave. Hear this:
2Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
When you study, pick up doctrines to live by; take reproof or rebuke or correction where you’re wrong and learn instructions for righteous living!
James 1:22 “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
James 1:23 “For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:”
James 1:24 “For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was”
Don’t just study, create images and discard the images once you have left the place of study, always act! David roared at Goliath, but didn’t stop there. He picked up the stone and threw it at the giant. That’s what “doing” is all about!
To be continued…
