This Book of the law-14

Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
…From yesterday…
What then is meditation?
Meditation means to think about deeply; to keep the mind fixed upon something or to study.
Meditation is giving deep thought to a matter, musing over it or digesting a matter.
The word meditation is from the Hebrew word “Hagar” which has several meanings, but for the sake of this write up, I will use just four of them. They are the wors study, imagine, mutter and roar.
God told Joshua to study the book of the law, meaning he should read it over and over, analyse it, understand it, revise it, dwell upon it and keep his mind fixed on it. The word “study” however has a purpose; one of the main aims of studying is to learn and prepare for an examination!
Usually, when a student studies, he tries to revise materials already learned in order to ensure he does not forget the subject learnt, in preparation for an examination.
God was telling Joshua that examinations would come the way they came to Moses, but study in order to be prepared ahead of time.
In the same vein, we are to do the same even today. Beloved, don’t just read the bible like a novel, study it. You want to master wealth, study as many verses as possible on wealth. Bring them out, read them over and over again.
You need healing? Bring out as many verses as possible on health and healing, and read them over and over till it sticks.
Friend, study your bible the way you study for exams! No wonder Paul admonished his son Timothy thus:
2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God…”
